2026 - Unicorn Publishing Group

The first monograph to examine Nicholas Sinclair's career as a portrait photographer. This book includes the early circus photographs, taken in the 1980s, previously unseen photographs from The Chameleon Body and portraits of Britain's leading artists, including Frank Auerbach, Rose Wylie, Richard Hamilton and Gillian Ayres. Nicholas Sinclair’s portrait of the British sculptor Anish Kapoor is included in Survival Notes: Life Lessons from Contemporary Artists, edited by Lydia R. Figes and published by Thames & Hudson.

2025 - Modern Art Press

Nicholas Sinclair's portrait of the British artist Euan Uglow (1932 - 2000) is published in The Uglow Papers, the first major monograph on the artist, published by Modern Art Press and edited by Andrew Lambirth.

2025 - Black+White Photography Magazine

Black+White Photography magazine featured a six page spread in its January 2025 issue of Nicholas Sinclair's recent Polaroid portraits.

2024 - National Portrait Gallery

The National Portrait Gallery has acquired Nicholas Sinclair's portrait of the British sculptor Thomas J Price for its permanent collection. This portrait was taken in the artist's London studio in 2016.

2024 - Euan Uglow

Nicholas Sinclair's portrait of Euan Uglow is published as the Frontispiece for the catalogue of the Hazlitt Holland-Hibbert exhibition, London, 22 May - 19 July 2024.

2024 - National Portrait Gallery

Nicholas Sinclair's portrait of the 2023 Turner Prize winner Jesse Darling has been acquired by the National Portrait Gallery for their permanent collection. This portrait was taken in Berlin in 2024.

2024 - An Instagram Exhibition of Photographs

Portraits of British artists, an Instagram exhibition posted in January and February 2024. This exhibition features some of the major names in British painting and sculpture from the last fifty years, including Frank Auerbach, Gillian Ayres, Anthony Caro and Paula Rego.

2023 - Kyffin Williams

An essay by Nicholas Sinclair about the Welsh artist Kyffin Williams is now published at www.kyffinwilliamsra.com. This essay examines the artist as a printmaker and features linocuts, lithographs and woodcuts made over a career spanning sixty years.

2023 - Creative Connections Southampton

Brings together the collections of the National Portrait Gallery and Southampton City Art Gallery and Museums to explore and celebrate people whose stories are linked to Southampton. Nicholas Sinclair's portrait of Bill Woodrow, one of Britain's most important contemporary sculptors, is included in this exhibition, which runs from May 26th to September 30th 2023.

Nicholas Sinclair was the second international guest speaker in The Artist's Tool Kit, a series of podcasts created by Professor Dr. Kaethe Wensel for Europa-Universitat Flensburg, Germany. This podcast was broadcast on 18th December, 2022 and is now available on Spotify.

2022 - Casa das Histórias Paula Rego Museum

Two portraits of the Portuguese artist Paula Rego, taken by Nicholas Sinclair in 1998, have been acquired by Casa das Histórias Paula Rego Museum, Cascais, Portugal for their permanent collection.

2022 - ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum, Denmark

Nicholas Sinclair's portrait of the sculptor Ron Mueck has been acquired by the ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum, Denmark. This portrait was taken in London in 1999 for the book Portraits of Artists.

2021 - Art Faces

Nicholas Sinclair's portraits of British artists, including Peter Blake, Frank Auerbach and Anthony Caro were included in the exhibition Art Faces at Forum Wurth, Rorschach, Switzerland in 2021.

2021 - Nicholas Sinclair Working with Artists

In this short film by Martin Sommerburg, Nicholas Sinclair talks about six of his best known portraits of artists - Anthony Caro, Paula Rego, Ron Mueck, Frank Bowling, Richard Hamilton and Gillian Ayres - explaining how each photograph was constructed and about how the portraits relate to the artist's work.

2020 - Sobre Volume 6

Edited by Sandra Martinéz Rossi and published by The University of Granada, Spain, this edition features a twenty page review of Nicholas Sinclair's monograph, The Chameleon Body, first published in 1996. The theme of this edition of Sobre is the modified body.
